Performing repairs in the kid`s room, consider that you do it for your child and should consider his or her tastes and wishes. Planning the interior, it is important to make it light and cozy.

Wiring

First, carry out wiring installation. If the interior of a child’s room requires a computer, place 3 electrical outlets and one socket for the Internet close to its location. Please note, that copper wiring should be in your apartment. This option is much more practical and safer.

Ceiling and Lighting

Lighting is a very important element. So, the design of a child’s room implies a thorough working out of quantity, quality and type of lighting. Naturally, one main light is not sufficient, so organize additional sources as sconces, floor lamps or small chandeliers. You can install them in several places: near the bed, writing table or area for games.

Creating the design of the room for your kid, you will need to select the correct construction of the ceiling. Make it from drywall; the variant of stretch ceiling with installation of lamps is also possible.

Be careful while buying chandeliers. It is best to choose a chandelier with plastic bowl shades, because they possess high levels of durability.

If you decide to make a wall lighting, it is not necessary to make a stretch ceiling, you can use plain plaster or wallpaper. Select decorative stickers glowing in the dark to add originality.

Walls

Planning the design of a small room for kids, pay particular attention to the walls. Wallpaper hanging is the most common option. Use ordinary paper or vinyl wallpaper. Paper wall covering is preferable. You can use so-called liquid wallpaper.

Be very careful with the choice of colors. They should be in harmony with the entire room, fit into a certain style of interior and complement the image of the room. Often the interior of a room for a girl or a boy assumes walls painted with emulsion paint, which can be easily cleaned with water many times. The walls should be leveled before painting.

Floor

Many starters in independent repair does not pay adequate attention to the floor. Design ideas offer to cover floor with laminate, parquet, linoleum, carpet or floor boards. Note that the floor should be leveled beforehand. You can do it yourself with the help of different leveling mixtures.

Style

Try to stick to one and the same style at all stages of repair. You can choose one of the following styles: classical, romantic, ethnic, high-tech.

Classical style is characterized by the presence of wooden bedroom furniture or steel furniture, a sophisticated computer chair. A chandelier with bronze candelabras and a stylish bookcase will fit the design perfectly. This conservative style can look very modern.

Romantic style has the following features: wallpaper in toned-down colors, wooden bed covered with a handmade blanket, wooden chairs, shelves, the presence of a big number of books and decorative elements.

In the room performed in this style, the clothing can be kept in wicker baskets, and small things can be put into boxes of different colors. Add comfort and warmth with the help of light.

Folk motifs and ornaments are main attractions of Ethnic style, as well as: furniture made of wood, floor mats, rich decor.

High-tech style is perfect for a teenager. It is characterized by: rich and vivid wallpaper, ration wall posters, the abundance of metal parts.

Furniture arrangement

The primary criterion is the maximum of free space: all kids are energetic beings and like active games. All active games inevitably lead to injuries and fallings. Therefore, the furniture should be placed in order not to hinder children from moving while various activities.

The best option is the location of all pieces of furniture along the walls, so you can leave enough space in the center of the room, and the furniture will get the steadiest position. If it is not possible, the furniture can be placed closer to each other in one part of the room, thereby setting up a space for entertainment in another part of the room.

The question concerning the layout of a sleeping, working and recreation areas is settled. The sleeping zone should be out of range of sunlight, while working area, on the contrary, should be located near the source of natural lighting, especially if your child is of school age.
